Orpha Orndorff Corso

   Orpha Orndorff Corso, age 99, of Takoma Park passed away on
Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Wilson Health Care Center
in Gaithersburg, MD. Born on September 16, 1915 in Moorefield,
WV, she was the daughter of the late Martin Orndorff and Nettie
Ruckman Orndorff. She was preceded in death by her husband of
18 years, Gene A. Corso, who passed in 1981.
   
   Orpha and Gene were members of the Grace Methodist Church
in Takoma Park. She then moved to Asbury Methodist Village in
1999. Orpha graduated from Moorefield High School in 1936 and
then graduated from Fairmont Business School. She then moved to
Washington, DC and worked for the Commerce and Treasury Dept.,
where she retired after 33 years of service.
  
In addition to her parents and husband, Orpha was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers,
Clara, Raymond, Cletus, and Loring Orndorff. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Alma L.
Spaid, Una Good, Thelma Feltner, and Clifton Tusing; numerous great nieces and nephews; and
many good friends.
  
  In her last years, Orpha moved to the Wilson Health Care Center, where she was assited by her
niece, Brenda J. Fowler; great-nephew, Keith A. Spaid; and her faithful aid, Cecilia Kum, who had
been with Orpha for five years.
  
  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Elmore Funeral
Home, 217 Winchester Ave., Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.,
Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Asbury Church Cemetery in
Bean Settlement, WV.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Orpha’s memory to the Asbury Church
Cemetery, 4222 Mt. Olive Rd., Kirby, WV 26755.
