Norma Jean Parker, age 79, of Moorefield, WV passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the EA Hawse
Continuous Care Center in Baker, WV. Born on August 15, 1933 in Fabius, WV, she was the daughter of the late
Adam Fitzwater and Minnie Kuykendall Fitzwater. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Franklin
Parker, on March 22, 2002. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Link.
Mrs. Parker is survived by two daughters, Karen Sue Propst of Elkton, MD and Sharon Kay Hornbaker of
Hancock, MD; one son, Eugene F. Parker, II of Moorefield, WV; four sisters, Claudia Clatterbuck of Harpers
Ferry, WV, Sophia See of South Fork, WV, Hilda Bradfield of Baker, WV, and Irene Michael of Kirby, WV; five
brothers, Charles Fitzwater, Paul Fitzwater, Bill Fitzwater, all of Rio, WV, Ralph Fitzwater of Moorefield, WV, and
George Fitzwater of Purcellville, VA; and two grandchildren.
Norma was a homemaker and a member of the Moorefield Assembly of God Church. She was also a member of
the Friends of the Library and the Hardy County CEO.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Elmore Funeral
Home in Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the
funeral home with Rev. Frank Myers and Lewis Paugh officiating. Burial will follow at the Asbury Church Cemetery
in Kirby, WV.
