Herbert Bean “Buster” Evans, age 91, of Rig, WV, passed away
Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his residence. Born on August 17, 1924
in Rig, WV, he was the son of the late James Marvin Evans and Pearl
Riggleman Evans. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was also
preceded in death by his three brothers and three sisters, making him
the last surviving member of his immediate family.

     Mr. Evans served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force
during WWII. He was a Hardy County School Bus Driver, retiring after
26 years. He was the caretaker of the Newhouse Cemetery in Rig,
WV for over 40 years and worked as a backhoe operator for Carl
“Dick” Riggleman for several years. He was a member of the Rig
Christian Church and had been a member of
the American Legion Post #64 for 70 years.

     He is survived by his loving wife of over 67 years, Priscilla Barr
Evans; three daughters, Bonnie Barkley and husband, Ken, of Rig,
WV, Joanne Emswiller and husband, Raymond, of Rig, WV, and Amy
Eye and husband, Orville, of Old Fields, WV; one son, Gary Evans
and wife, Tressa, of Rig, WV; nine grandchildren; 22 great-
grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

     The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Saturday, March
26, 2016 at Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV. A funeral service
will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the funeral home
with Pastor Lynn Rohrbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Newhouse
Cemetery, Rig, WV. Memorial donations may be made to the
Newhouse Cemetery, Rig, WV.
