Emma Jean Evick Thomas, age 86, of South Fork Road,
Milam, WV, passed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2015
at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Born on
November 13, 1928 in Fort Seybert, WV,
she was the daughter of the late Lester
Evick and Treva Rexrode Evick.
   
  Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Franklin High School.
For over 48 years, she worked as a postmaster at the
Milam Post Office and operated the Milam Store.
She was a member of the Zion Methodist Church in
Milam, WV and an active member of
the Peru Community Center in Peru, WV.
  
 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by
her husband, Emory H. Thomas and a brother, Bill Evick.
She is survived by four daughters, Beverly T. Baker and
her husband, Don, of Moorefield WV, Jeannie T. Liller
and her husband, Edgel, of Moorefield, WV, Sue T.
Hansen and her husband, Tom, of Mount Airy, MD, and
Rosalie Thomas of Moorefield, WV; one sister, Janet Zirk
of Milam, WV; three brothers, Lee Roy Evick of Fort
Seybert, WV, Jim Evick of Charlottesville, VA, and Charles
Evick of Harrisonburg, VA; five grandchildren, Erin Baker
Michaelis, John Baker, Jeff Liller, Kristen Kelly, and
Warren Hansen; and five great-grandchildren, Emma
Kathryn Michaelis, Owen Michaelis, Sarah Liller, Rebecca
Liller, and Reagan Kelly.
   
 The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m.,
Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Elmore Funeral Home in
Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be held at 2:00
p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2015 with Pastor Cynthia Skinner
officiating. Burial will follow in Olivet Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Jeff Liller, John Baker, Warren
Hansen, Owen Michaelis, Steve Kelly, and Doug Zirk.

Center, 19275 South Fork Rd., Moorefield, WV 26836.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Elmore
