Annah “Ann” Harper Calhoun

     Annah “Ann” Harper Calhoun, age 92, of Moorefield, WV passed this life on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the
Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on February 22, 1920, in Durgon, WV, she was the daughter of
the late Dice Philip Harper and Renick Bell Harper.                                                                                        

     Mrs. Calhoun was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Calhoun on March 5, 1986. She was also
preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.                                                                                                

     Ann is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Snyder and her husband, Larry, of Old Fields, WV, one son, William
D. Calhoun and his wife, Jean, of Mt. Alto, PA, one sister, Dorothy Smith of Fairfax, VA, seven grandchildren, Lori
Young and her husband, Chris, Gina Heller and her husband, Scott, Will Calhoun and his wife, Tammy, Rachel
Calhoun, Richard Calhoun and his wife, Heidi, Todd Snyder and his wife, Lorena, Monica Wilson and her husband,
Jake, 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and

      Mrs. Calhoun was a graduate of Moorefield High School and a graduate of Strayer College of Washington, DC,
and was a retired legal secretary for Judge H. “Gus” Muntzing and operated Ann’s Antiques. She was former
Worthy Grand Matron of the Moorefield Eastern Star, a den mother for cub scouts pack #62, a member of the
Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church of Moorefield, WV, a member of the Church Circle #2, United Methodist
Women, Sunday School Teacher, and other church responsibilities. She was very active in the lives of her

     The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Elmore Funeral Home in
Moorefield, WV. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Duffey
Memorial United Methodist Church in Moorefield with Pastor Jay Parkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Olivet
Cemetery in Moorefield, WV.
